"will you go outside the room so i can understand you?"

en la clase de espanol there's this huge thing about how we can only speak in spanish when we step through the door. so a new kid needed directions to the counselor's office, and the teacher told him... in spanish. i don't think any of us understood a word. it was great.

alright. i found this amazing news story. i'm copying it in here. it's from http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1513938.html there.

"Hamster-powered phone charger
A 16-year-old boy invented a hamster-powered mobile phone charger as part of his GCSE science project.
Peter Ash, of Lawford, Somerset, attached a generator to his hamster's exercise wheel and connected it to his phone charger.
Elvis does the legwork while Peter charges his phone in an economically and environmentally friendly way.
He came up with the idea after his sister Sarah complained that Elvis was keeping her awake at night by playing for hours on his exercise wheel.
'I thought the wheel could be made to do something useful so I connected a system of gears and a turbine,' he said.
'Every two minutes Elvis spends on his wheel gives me about thirty minutes talk time on my phone.'
The teenage inventor was given a C for his project and has been awarded a D overall for the course."

now doesn't that make you feel better? if that kid is getting Ds, i should be happy i'm getting by with Bs.

anyways. on thursday was a crosscountry meet, i didn't do good. as in, on the third mile i slowed down enough to make a huge difference. i could've done loads better.
i got 4th on varsity though, which means that i am actually expected to go to practice.
so, when i skipped practice yesterday and both my coaches walked by... adam, a coach, says he has "something for me" next practice. i personally think i do enough running already, and don't need any more. so, yes. and since yesterday was the day after a meet, i was completely exhausted and couldn't really function.
it was pretty great.

today is a xc party. yes, my life has been entirely consumed by crosscountry. it happens.

as far as school goes... i can't wait to get out. i really, honestly cannot. i mean, i know i've only had 2 days of it... but it's _already_ hellish. i mean, really, really hellish. in mr. cannon's class (us history) your entire grade depends on tests. do you have any idea how good that is for me? usually, the only thing i do bad in is hmwk. well, i do completely terrible overall in art, gym, computer apps, and religion. those classes ruined my chance of national honors society.

yesterday i went sailing with alana and lauren. it was pretty great. except linds, my ...adorable...little sister, came. and i cannot stand her. i really, really cannot.

anyways. i'm gonna go, because this is turning out to be a really boring entry. bye.

i hart your sister.

and i wish my german grade was based solely on tests. it's half a sdubjective oral grade. which means SHE decides what to give me every day. which means...i fail.
